Sarah Losinger: A Swimming and Diving Scholar-Athlete of the Year |

Former Marlin and Virginia Tech standout, Sarah Losinger named as one of the 2008-09 ACC Swimming and Diving Scholar-Athletes of the Year. To be eligible for the Scholar-Athlete of the Year award, student-athletes must be in their third or fourth year of competition and have a 3.00 grade point average over their career and over the last two semesters. Nominees are then judged by a committee looking 60% at academic performance and 40% at athletic achievement. Sarah helped Virginia Tech H2Okie women place 3rd in the conference meet, their highest mark in recent years. She placed 7th and 9th in the 100 and 200 breast events respectively. The Marlins congratulate Sarah on a job well done.

 Kylie Stewart, our Marlins NAG record setter is featured in the May issue of Swimming World magazine!
Kylie Stewart, 13, of the Marietta Marlins in Marietta, Ga., set two national age group records at the Southern Zone-Eastern Sectional Senior Championships, March 5-8, in Cary, N.C. On the second day of the meet, she finished first in the "C" finals of the 200 yard freestyle with a time of 1:49.64 to claim the first of her NAG
standards in the 11-12 age group. Two days later, she placed second in the "B" finals of the 200 yard back in 1:59.49 for another NAG mark. Kylie also placed l lth in the 100 back (57.17) and 12th in the 100 free (52.10). Click here to view full article and picture. Congratulations Kylie!!!!! |
